Sahasra Semiconductors Private Limited (SSPL), part of the Sahasra Group, has dispatched its first shipment of MicroSD cards to Japan on February 17, 2026. The shipment occurs under a distribution agreement with YAMAYA Electronics.
The partnership originated from interactions at Semicon India 2025 and was formalized through a signing at SEMICON Japan 2025. The agreement was signed by Kazunari Yamaya, Representative Director and President of YAMAYA Electronics, and Varun Manwani, Managing Director of SSPL.
This development initiates active operations for SSPL in the Japanese market and represents an expansion step for the company in Asia. The MicroSD cards are produced at SSPL's facility in Bhiwadi, India, and are labeled as Made in India products.
The company stated that the milestone aligns with the Government of India's Make in India initiative by exporting Indian-manufactured semiconductor items. SSPL expressed thanks to Kazunari Yamaya and the YAMAYA team for the collaboration and indicated plans to establish a sustainable presence in Japan while delivering value to regional customers.
In a related development, SSPL has partnered with German electronics brand HAMA GmbH to source and export MicroSD cards manufactured at the Bhiwadi facility. This arrangement supports exports of Made-in-India MicroSD cards and contributes to India's semiconductor and electronics manufacturing export activities.
