Global DRAM Revenue Surges 30.9% in Q3 2025 as Micron Gains Market Share
Global DRAM industry revenue reached $41.4 billion in the third quarter of 2025, up 30.9% from the previous quarter, according to TrendForce research. The increase stemmed from rises in conventional DRAM contract prices, higher bit shipments, and expanded high-bandwidth memory (HBM) volumes.
For the fourth quarter of 2025, DRAM suppliers' inventories are nearly depleted, and bit shipment growth is expected to slow. Cloud service providers (CSPs) remain adaptable on procurement costs, prompting price increases in other applications to ensure supply. As a result, contract prices for advanced and legacy nodes, across all major applications, are projected to rise sharply. TrendForce forecasts a 45–50% quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) increase in conventional DRAM contract prices and a 50–55% rise in total contract prices, including DRAM and HBM.
SK hynix held the top position in Q3 2025, with revenue up 12.4% QoQ to $13.75 billion, fueled by seasonal average selling price (ASP) gains and a notable jump in total bit shipments. Its market share fell to 33.2% amid intense competition.
Samsung achieved a 30.4% QoQ revenue increase to $13.5 billion, exceeding bit shipment expectations and securing a 32.6% market share, maintaining its second-place ranking.
Micron stayed in third place, with revenue climbing 53.2% QoQ to $10.65 billion due to gains in...
