Electronic System Design Industry Revenue Hits $5.1 Billion in Q2 2025, Driven by EDA and Regional Growth
The Electronic System Design (ESD) industry reported an 8.6% revenue increase to $5,089.4 million in Q2 2025, up from $4,685.5 million in Q2 2024, according to the latest Electronic Design Market Data (EDMD) report by the ESD Alliance, a SEMI Technology Community. The four-quarter moving average rose 10.4%, comparing the most recent four quarters to the prior four.
The report noted growth in several product categories. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) revenue increased 17.2% to $1,929 million, with a four-quarter moving average rise of 13.5%. Printed Circuit Board and Multi-Chip Module (PCB and MCM) revenue grew 7.8% to $430.5 million, with an 8.8% increase in the four-quarter moving average. Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) revenue rose 8.7% to $1,826.7 million, with a 13.2% four-quarter moving average increase. Services revenue increased 11.9% to $201.2 million, with a 21.3% rise in the four-quarter moving average. However, IC Physical Design and Verification revenue declined 9.9% to $701.9 million, with a 3.1% decrease in the four-quarter moving average.
Regionally, the Americas led with $2,282.4 million in revenue, a 12.2% increase, and a 14.1% rise in the four-quarter moving average.
