AI and Automation Transform Post-Silicon Testing: Expert Bytes from Soliton Technologies CEO at DVCon India

In an exclusive interview at DVCon India 2025, Arjun Sathiyaseelan, CEO of Soliton Technologies, addressed the evolving challenges of post-silicon testing as India's semiconductor industry shifts from services to product development. Sathiyaseelan highlighted the capital and talent demands for establishing testing labs, the rising role of AI in electronic design automation (EDA), and how Soliton’s software-driven services are helping top semiconductor companies modernize workflows. His comments come amid India's ambition to become a "product nation" in semiconductors, with global firms increasingly offshoring validation operations to the country.

Testing Challenges in India's Semiconductor Transition
Sathiyaseelan noted that both global and Indian companies are moving toward product innovation, but post-silicon testing poses significant hurdles. "Global companies are shifting validation and testing operations to India, leading to more labs and job creation," he said. However, setting up these facilities requires substantial investment in equipment and talent, making it capital-intensive. Indian startups and product-focused firms face the same issues: establishing in-house labs, building skilled teams, and competing with multinational corporations for expertise.
