The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported that global semiconductor sales reached $179.7 billion in the second quarter of 2025, a 7.8% increase from the first quarter. Sales in June 2025 totaled $59.9 billion, up 19.6% from $50.1 billion in June 2024 and 1.5% higher than May 2025. The data, compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization, reflects a three-month moving average. SIA represents 99% of U.S. semiconductor revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip firms.
John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO, noted that sales in Q2 2025 were nearly 20% higher than Q2 2024, with growth primarily driven by the Asia Pacific and Americas markets. Annual global growth is projected to continue in the second half of 2025.
Regionally, June year-to-year sales increased in Asia Pacific/All Other (34.2%), the Americas (24.1%), China (13.1%), and Europe (5.3%), but decreased in Japan (-2.9%). Month-to-month sales in June rose in Asia Pacific/All Other (5.8%) and China (0.8%), but declined in the Americas (-0.2%), Europe (-0.7%), and Japan (-1.7%).
