AI-Driven Analog Chip Design Gains Momentum with Celera’s $20M Funding and First Fully Automated IC Sample

Celera Semiconductor, a Silicon Valley startup, has secured a $20 million Series A equity investment from Maverick Silicon, a private investment firm specializing in semiconductor technologies. The funding aims to advance Celera’s mission to transform analog chip design through its AI-driven automation platform, addressing growing demand for custom silicon in AI, edge computing, and other applications.

Celera’s proprietary Nestos platform, a digital twin-based analog design library, enables rapid development of high-precision analog integrated circuits (ICs). By automating complex aspects of analog design, the platform achieves a 10x reduction in development time compared to traditional methods, maintaining performance standards. The company has demonstrated this capability to major customers, producing full-custom analog ICs in just 10% of the time required by conventional workflows.

The investment will support Celera’s go-to-market strategy, expanding its reach across industries. Partnerships with supply chain leaders like Vanguard International Semiconductor and ASE Group enhance Celera’s ability to deliver turnkey solutions. “Analog design has faced challenges like limited talent and slow processes,” said Kenneth Safar, Managing Director at Maverick Silicon. “Celera’s approach combines software and silicon to ...
