Tata Electronics and Bosch Partner for Semiconductor and Automotive Electronics Growth in India
Tata Electronics, a prominent Indian electronics and semiconductor manufacturer, and Robert Bosch GmbH, a global technology and services provider, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. The agreement, signed by Dr. Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, and Dirk Kress, Executive Vice President of Semiconductor Operations at Bosch, focuses on chip packaging and manufacturing at Tata Electronics’ upcoming assembly and test unit in Assam and foundry in Gujarat.
The collaboration also includes exploring local projects in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) for vehicle electronics, aiming for mutual benefits. Dr. Thakur stated that the partnership aligns with Tata Electronics’ goal of building a comprehensive semiconductor and electronics ecosystem in India, positioning the country as a significant player in the global market. Dirk Kress emphasized Bosch’s recognition of the growing demand for advanced automotive electronics and the need for a resilient supply chain, highlighting the strategic importance of India’s automotive sector.
