AI-Driven Demand and Global Investments Propel Advanced IC Substrate Market to $31 Billion by 2030
Yole Group has released its Status of the Advanced IC Substrates Industry 2025 report, projecting the advanced IC substrate market, encompassing organic advanced IC substrates (AICS), glass core substrates (GCS), substrate-like PCBs (SLP), and embedded die (ED) technologies, to reach $31 billion by 2030. The growth is driven by trends in AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and expanding applications in consumer, automotive, and defense sectors.

In 2024, the organic AICS market recovered to $14.2 billion, marking a 1% year-over-year increase, with build-up IC substrates holding a significant and growing market share. These substrates support generative AI, data centers, and advanced packaging needs through finer interconnects, higher yields, and controlled lead times. The GCS market, still in early stages, is poised for growth with strategic investments and pilot lines in the U.S., Korea, and China, targeting a multi-hundred-million-dollar market by 2030, primarily for HPC, AI, and telecommunications. Notable initiatives include Absolics’ Georgia-based fab.
SLP shipments reached 392 million units in 2024, driven by smartphone demand and emerging applications in AR/VR and wearables. The SLP market is expected to gro...
