Astera Labs and Alchip partner to enhance AI infrastructure semiconductor ecosystem

Astera Labs, a provider of connectivity solutions for AI and cloud infrastructure, and Alchip Technologies, a high-performance ASIC developer, have announced a strategic partnership to support the development of next-generation AI infrastructure semiconductor ecosystem. The collaboration integrates Alchip’s custom ASIC design capabilities with Astera Labs’ connectivity portfolio to provide interoperable solutions for hyperscalers deploying AI infrastructure.
Sanjay Gajendra, president and chief operating officer of Astera Labs, stated that the partnership aims to support hyperscalers in deploying complex AI infrastructure at rack-scale levels using various interconnect technologies, while reducing integration risks and time-to-market. The collaboration addresses challenges faced by hyperscalers, as AI models grow in size and complexity, requiring rack-level solutions that combine custom compute accelerators with high-performance connectivity fabrics within short development timelines.
