DENSO and ROHM announced a basic agreement to form a strategic partnership in the semiconductor field, following discussions initiated in September 2024. The partnership addresses the growing importance of semiconductors in vehicle electrification and intelligence, driven by the rise of electric vehicles for carbon neutrality and automated driving for reducing traffic fatalities.
DENSO and ROHM, with a history of collaboration in automotive semiconductor trade and development, will combine DENSO’s automotive system expertise with ROHM’s semiconductor technology from the consumer market. The focus will be on expanding the range of analog ICs and other high-quality devices for vehicle electrification and intelligence, while deepening development collaboration. The companies will also explore broader cooperation in compatible areas of their semiconductor businesses and aim to supply products globally to advance automotive technology and support a sustainable mobility society.
To strengthen this partnership, DENSO and ROHM are considering enhancing their capital relationship.
