Infineon Technologies AG and Marelli have collaborated to develop a MEMS laser beam scanning (LBS) system for automotive cockpit displays, based on Infineon’s LBS technology. The system to be showcased at Marelli’s booth (Hall 1.2H, booth 1BF009) during Auto Shanghai 2025, enables flexible display designs.
The automotive-compliant MEMS LBS system is shock- and vibration-resistant, meets ASIL-B standards, and uses a compact chip-scale package for integration versatility. It offers high-efficiency, bright displays in ambient light, with low power consumption and heat output. A large depth of field allows focus-free projection, simplifying optical design.
“Infineon is focused on delivering optics solutions quickly to meet automotive display demands,” said Dr. Thomas Schafbauer, Head of Sensor and RF Business Unit at Infineon. “Our collaboration with Infineon on MEMS LBS provides design flexibility and efficiency for cockpit displays,” said Joachim Fetzer, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Marelli.
