Insyde Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and OpenBMC-based systems management firmware, announced today that its customers are now shipping InsydeH2O UEFI BIOS on their newest AMD Ryzen 8040 Series-based notebooks, representing the second generation of AI PCs featuring AMD Ryzen AI Technology.

The new AMD Ryzen 8040 series processors feature the 4nm “Zen 4” architecture with up to 8 performance cores, the latest AMD RDNA3 GPU and AMD Ryzen AI NPU. Ryzen AI-powered processors provide more dedicated AI processing power than previous generations, with up to 16 dedicated NPU TOPS (Trillions of Operations Per Second) and up to 39 total system TOPS, giving these notebooks the capability to deliver exceptional performance for AI-powered collaboration, analytics and content creation.

Among the new AMD Ryzen AI-equipped PCs powered by Insyde include the Acer Swift Edge 16, HP Pavilion Plus 14z-ey100, and Lenovo Slim 5 16 (Gen9) Gaming.

InsydeH2O helps the 8040 series notebooks meet modern security requirements for Windows 11 through its support for advanced security features and specifications, including Secured-Core PC (Level 3), Platform Secure Boot, A/B recovery, and Microsoft’s Pluton Security Processor, which provides protection from chip-to-cloud and helps the system safeguard user credentials, personal data, and encryption keys against sophisticated cyber threats.

“The momentum for AI PCs in the market is accelerating and we are proud to help our customers ship their innovative designs on-time to meet this demand,” said Alan Lo, Sr. Associate Vice President of Insyde Software. “With the successful shipping of this generation, InsydeH2O continues to demonstrate that it is a leading choice for timely enablement of the latest advanced AI PC designs,” added Lo.
