proteanTecs, a provider of health and performance management solutions for advanced electronics, has announced a collaboration with MegaChips to integrate proteanTecs embedded monitoring technology into MegaChips next-generation ASIC and large-scale integration (LSI) digital chip systems.
The joint work will focus on giving deep visibility into chip behavior across the entire product lifecycle, spanning development, production, and in-field operation, for advanced ASIC and LSI designs used in AI and high-performance electronic systems. proteanTecs on-chip monitoring technology and software applications are meant to give MegaChips customers actionable insights into their silicon from early development through final deployment, supporting faster chip bring-up (the process of validating a new chip design works correctly), more advanced power and performance management, improved reliability, and more predictable behavior once devices are deployed in the field. The collaboration includes proteanTecs AVS Pro application, which supports dynamic power reduction that adapts based on the actual workload a chip is running.
Yasushi Amamiya, executive officer and senior general manager of MegaChips' Hardware Division 1/Hardware Headquarters, said the company is pleased to enter into this memorandum of understanding with proteanTecs, describing the combination of MegaChips' established Design for Test (DFT) solutions, techniques built into chip designs to make testing easier, with proteanTecs' deep data analytics as bringing a meaningful evolution to traditional DFT approaches. He said that as AI, edge computing, and advanced electronics drive higher demands for performance, efficiency, and reliability, system companies need more actionable insight into how devices actually behave under real workloads and operating conditions. He added that the collaboration also helps MegaChips differentiate its ASIC design services while helping customers reduce development risk and speed up time to market, describing proteanTecs' embedded solutions as providing a critical layer of intelligence that supports more robust, controllable, and production-ready computing platforms.
Nori Kojima, general manager of proteanTecs Japan, said MegaChips brings more than three decades of expertise in system LSI development, with deep capabilities spanning ASIC, ASSP (application-specific standard product), and module solutions that help customers address complex design, production, and application-specific requirements. He said that by incorporating proteanTecs' monitoring and analytics into their systems, MegaChips will help customers better understand how their silicon actually behaves in practice, optimize designs against power, performance, and thermal targets, and deliver devices that are high-yield, highly reliable, and power-efficient.
The companies describe this collaboration as establishing an important framework for yield optimization and very high reliability across the full product lifecycle, particularly for advanced ASIC and co-packaged optics (CPO) designs. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing lifecycle monitoring for next-generation electronics, giving customers the visibility needed to manage complexity, reduce risk, and improve long-term product value.
