JEDEC Solid State Technology Association is congratulating its longtime chairman, Mian Quddus, on being selected to receive the 2026 FMS Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be presented at the FMS event in Santa Clara on August 4, 2026, recognizing his sustained leadership in industry standards organizations whose work has significantly shaped the memory, storage, and broader computing industries.

Quddus, who serves as vice president of standards and technology enablement at Samsung Semiconductor, has chaired JEDEC's Board of Directors since 2004. Over his 22-year tenure, JEDEC has played a central role in advancing the industry through open standards that have supported the rapid growth of cloud computing, AI, mobile devices, automotive electronics, and high-performance computing.

Those standards include the specifications underpinning modern memory and storage technology, spanning successive generations of DDR, LPDDR, HBM, GDDR, NAND flash, Universal Flash Storage, and solid-state drives, along with standards governing the quality and reliability of solid-state devices. During his time as chairman, JEDEC also successfully launched JC-70, its committee focused on wide bandgap power electronic conversion semiconductors, a newer class of power semiconductor material, which sets standards for the reliability, t...
