Micross to Acquire AEMtec, Significantly Expanding European Footprint in Advanced Packaging and Optoelectronics
Micross Components, a provider of high-reliability microelectronic products and services for aerospace, defense, space, medical, and industrial applications, has agreed to acquire AEMtec, a Berlin-based company specializing in complex micro- and optoelectronic modules, advanced packaging, and testing and assembly services for high-reliability applications.
The deal is meant to significantly grow Micross presence in continental Europe while broadening its lineup of high-reliability microelectronic services. AEMtec specializes in handling the full packaging and integration process end to end, from initial design and prototyping through industrialization, qualification, full production, and ongoing lifecycle support. Its technical capabilities span wafer back-end services and testing, chip-on-board assembly, flip chip packaging, 3D integration, and optical packaging, all carried out across cleanroom facilities in Berlin and Dresden, Germany, and Boston, Massachusetts. The company's expertise in miniaturization and high-precision assembly has positioned it to deliver reliable solutions even for demanding customer requirements.
