Eaton has opened a European Centre of Additive Manufacturing in the United Kingdom. The new facility is the company’s third global additive manufacturing site and its second dedicated to the aerospace industry. The centre is located at Eaton’s aerospace manufacturing campus in Wimborne. It integrates design, engineering, printing, and validation in a single environment to deliver production-ready capabilities closer to European aerospace commercial, aftermarket, and defense customers.
Eaton states that the facility will support localized, production-scale additive manufacturing in Europe. The company expects to expand the facility’s capabilities to support high-reliability commercial and military programs at scale. It anticipates using titanium and electron beam additive processes and is working towards achieving AS9100 aerospace quality certification.
The centre features Eaton’s largest metal additive manufacturing system, which is capable of delivering up to twice the productivity of previous platforms. This supports faster development cycles and increased throughput for complex, safety-critical components. Additive manufacturing at the facility enables the production of lighter, more efficient components while reducing material usage and minimizing the need for tooling.
The new European centre advances Eaton’s strategy to scale additive manufacturing globally. It strengthens the company’s ability to support regional aerospace programs and provides more resilient, localized production in Europe. Eaton’s global manufacturing network offers dual-sourced, regionally aligned solutions, improving supply chain resilience and redundancy for global aerospace customers.
