Analog Devices has announced the completion of its acquisition of Empower Semiconductor. The deal further reinforces ADI's position as a strategic, system-level power partner spanning from grid to core across the AI ecosystem, expanding the company's addressable market and capabilities in AI compute power delivery.
Vincent Roche, CEO and Chair at ADI, described the moment as an exciting milestone, welcoming the Empower team to ADI and calling it an important step toward solving one of the most complex challenges in modern electronics: power delivery for the AI era. He said AI infrastructure is fundamentally changing how power needs to be delivered, with energy now standing as one of the most persistent constraints on scaling next-generation systems. According to Roche, Empower's technology is built to directly address this bottleneck, unlocking new levels of efficiency and performance for AI processors. He added that by combining ADI's technology and scale, the company will help customers redesign their power systems to achieve the compute densities that next-generation AI requires, with an impact reaching well beyond AI data centers into any area where energy limits what's possible.
