SiTime Completes Acquisition of Renesas Timing Business

SiTime plans to extend its offerings from oscillators to clocks and resonators.

Hidetoshi Shibata, CEO of Renesas, said the transaction marks an important milestone and the start of further engagement with SiTime. The companies signed a partnership memorandum of understanding in February 2026 to explore strategic collaboration, including integration of SiTime’s MEMS resonators into Renesas’ embedded computing products for next-generation intelligent devices. Shibata is expected to join SiTime’s Board of Directors.
