GigaDevice Expands GD25UF Series SPI NOR Flash Densities from 8Mb to 256Mb for 1.2V Ultra-Low Power Applications

GigaDevice announced the expanded density range of its GD25UF series 1.2V ultra-low power SPI NOR Flash, now covering 8Mb to 256Mb. The series operates between 1.14V and 1.26V, aligning with the shift to 1.2V operating voltage in leading-edge SoCs and processors for higher energy efficiency. This allows seamless power integration with 1.2V SoCs without extra level shifters or complex power management, reducing peripheral components, BOM cost, and power conversion losses.

The expansion supports diverse storage needs from high-performance AI computing to low-power battery-operated devices. In AI infrastructure, including AI servers, high-performance computing platforms, and machine learning systems, the up to 256Mb density provides space for code storage, high-bandwidth memory interconnects such as CXL, and high-speed data transmission through fiber-optic transceivers, supporting AI inference efficiency and flexible system architectures.

For space-constrained applications like IoT, wearables, hearables, AI ASIC platforms, medical devices, and optical modules, densities as low as 8Mb in ultra-compact WLCSP packaging enable superior storage performance in limited physical footprints, facilitating lightweight industrial designs and longer battery life while driving device miniaturization in edge AI and ultra-compact form factors.
