Bourns, announced the addition of nine new models to its Multifuse MF-LSMF High-Power Surface Mount Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) Resettable Fuse Series. The expanded lineup provides hold currents up to 7.0 A and maximum voltages up to 72 V. One model, the MF-LSMF600/16X, offers 16 VDC and 6.0 A hold current in a space-saving 2920 SMD package.

The MF-LSMF Series incorporates Bourns freeXpansion technology, which enables higher hold currents, elevated voltage ratings, and improved resistance stability within a compact footprint. The fuses protect against overcurrent and overtemperature conditions in low DC voltage ports, including USB, IEEE 1394, and powered Ethernet IEEE 802.3af applications. They are also suitable for low-voltage telecom equipment, industrial control systems, security systems, and portable electronics.

SMD terminals on the MF-LSMF Series use Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold (ENIG) plating to enhance reliability and longevity. This contrasts with nickel-tin (Ni/Sn) plating used in some competing products, which can be prone to whisker formation, oxidation, corrosion, soldering difficulties, and early circuit degradation.

The nine new models are available immediately, are RoHS compliant, and halogen free.
