ROHM has expanded its lineup of low-voltage (40V/60V) MOSFETs for automotive applications, including main inverter control circuits, electric pumps, and LED headlights, with products adopting the new HPLF5060 package measuring 4.9mm × 6.0mm. Automotive low-voltage MOSFETs have trended toward smaller packages, such as 5060-size and more compact options. Miniaturization creates challenges for reliable mounting due to narrow terminal spacing and leadless designs.

The HPLF5060 package provides a smaller footprint than the TO-252 package (6.6mm × 10.0mm). It incorporates gull-wing leads to improve board-mount reliability and copper clip junction technology to support high-current operation in demanding automotive environments. Mass production of products using the HPLF5060 package started in November 2025. Sample pricing is $3.5 per unit (excluding tax). Online sales have begun, with availability through distributors including DigiKey and Farnell.
ROHM plans to begin mass production of products in the smaller DFN3333 package (3.3mm × 3.3mm), which uses wettable flank technology, around February 2026. Development is underway on a TOLG (TO-Leaded with Gull-wing) package measuring 9.9mm × 11.7mm to expand high-power, high-reliability package options.
The new products fall under ROHM's EcoMOS brand of silicon power MOSFETs for energy-efficient applications in automotive systems, home appliances, and industrial equipment. The brand offers selection based on parameters such as noise performance and switching characteristics.
