Vishay Intertechnology, introduced the RCA-SR e3 series, a new line of AEC-Q200 qualified standard thick film chip resistors.The series combines sulfur resistance with long-term stability and is available in five compact case sizes for applications in automotive, industrial, and telecommunications sectors. The resistors are designed for sulfur-containing environments and meet ASTM B809-25 testing requirements, showing a maximum resistance drift of 1 % after 1000 hours at 60 °C. This test duration exceeds that of competing devices at the same temperature.
The series also demonstrates high stability under challenging conditions, with a resistance change (ΔR/R) of ≤ 1 % after 1000 hours of rated power operation at 70 °C. The resistors are offered in 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206 case sizes. Power ratings reach up to 0.25 W, with operating voltages ranging from 30 V to 200 V. Resistance values span from 10 Ω to 10 MΩ (including jumper 0 Ω options in smaller sizes), with tolerances of ±1 % and ±5 %, and temperature coefficients of resistance (TCR) of ±100 ppm/K and ±200 ppm/K depending on the case size.
The devices are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free. They feature a protective coating for electrical, mechanical, and climatic protection, along with pure matte tin plating compatible with both lead (Pb)-free and lead-containing soldering processes. The resistors support automatic soldering via wave, reflow, or vapor phase methods.
