Diodes Incorporated Expands Automotive Bipolar Transistors with Ultra-Low VCE(sat) NPN and PNP Series
Diodes announced the DXTN/P 78Q and 80Q series of automotive-compliant ultra-low VCE(sat) NPN and PNP bipolar transistors.
The twelve devices support voltage ranges for 12V, 24V, and 48V automotive systems. Applications include gate driving of MOSFETs and IGBTs, power line and load switching, low-dropout voltage regulation, DC-DC conversion, and driving motors, solenoids, relays, and actuators.
The transistors operate continuously up to +175°C and provide ESD robustness of HBM 4kV and CDM 1kV.
Packaged in PowerDI3333-8 (3.3mm x 3.3mm), the devices reduce PCB footprint by up to 75% compared to SOT223. Thermal resistance (RθJL) is 4.2°C/W. Side-wall plating supports automated optical inspection and solder joint strength.
BVCEO ratings range from 30V to 100V. The DXTN/P 80Q series handles continuous current up to 10A and peak pulse current of 20A. Saturation voltage reaches 17mV at 1A, with on-state resistance as low as 12mΩ.
Pricing for the DXTN/P 78Q series ranges from $0.19 to $0.21, and for the DXTN/P 80Q series from $0.20 to $0.22, in 6,000-piece quantities.
Standard compliance versions, DXTN/P 78 and 80 series, are available for industrial and commercial applications.
