XJTAG has launched the XJLink-PF20, the latest addition to the XJLink-PF series.
Following the XJLink-PF40 released earlier this year, the XJLink-PF20 provides a 4-TAP two-port configuration for functional and JTAG boundary scan testing using the XJTAG testing suite.
Key features of the XJLink-PF20 include:
- Protected to ±30 V on all pins
- Enhanced signal integrity with additional ground signals and series termination
- Compatible with XJAnalyser, XJRunner, XJInvestigator, XJDeveloper or XJFlash
- Capable of advanced JTAG boundary scan testing and functional test using GPIO pins
- Up to 4 JTAG TAPs configurable across 20 GPIO pins
- Physically ruggedised with various mounting options
- JTAG boundary scan speeds of up to 166 MHz
- Available with hardware and network licensing options
Designed in consultation with industry, the XJLink-PF20 includes ±30 V protection on all pins and 20 dedicated ground pins. The pin-out is fully configurable across two connectors for assigning JTAG TAPs and general purpose I/O.
The XJLink-PF20 integrates into existing systems and is compatible with all parts of the XJTAG suite. It is supported by XJTAG version 4.2 and later.
XJExpress and XJExpress-FPGA Details
XJExpress serves as a directly-connected in-circuit SPI flash programmer. XJExpress-FPGA enables in-circuit programming of flash memory attached to an FPGA.

Key features of XJExpress include:
- Configurable interface for erase, program, and verify stages across multiple targets
- Intelligent erase, program, and verify algorithms
- Development from factory-proven hardware with enhanced termination protection
- Support for SPI NOR flash devices as well as serial, dual, and quad SPI modes
- Multi-image support combining multiple files during programming
- GUI and command-line control options
- Connection options via direct cable or in-circuit test (ICT) systems
- Part of the XJTAG ecosystem
XJExpress connects directly to SPI flash memory on a circuit board or assembly for in-system erase, program, and verify functionality. It is self-contained and USB-connected with a rugged form factor and enhanced termination protection on all pins.
Simon Payne, CEO of XJTAG, stated: “XJExpress offers the power of high-speed flash programming without the overhead of full system integration. It’s plug-and-play, scriptable, and built for speed.”
XJExpress-FPGA is pre-configured for the FPGA and flash types in use. It connects to the FPGA or FPGA SoC using the JTAG port.
Pete Wootton, Head of Hardware of XJTAG, stated: “XJExpress-FPGA provides the industry’s highest-speed flash programming, over JTAG, for both development and production.”
