AI Surveillance HDD: Toshiba S300 AI Series Launches with 8-24 TB Capacities and 550 TB Annual Workload

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation introduced the S300 AI surveillance hard disk drives for AI-driven video applications.

The S300 AI series offers capacities from 8 TB to 24 TB. It supports large-scale continuous recording and retention for AI video analytics servers and storage, centralized surveillance data storage systems, video archive and recovery infrastructure, and multi-bay RAID setups.

S300 AI handles up to 64 high-resolution camera streams and up to 32 AI streams. The drives are designed for commercial and infrastructure sectors including transportation, manufacturing, smart city projects, healthcare and nursing care, finance, and logistics.

The series is optimized for random access in AI workloads to enable rapid video data retrieval for real-time AI analytics.

S300 AI has an annual workload rating of 550 TB and a mean time to failure of up to 2.5 million hours. It operates 24/7 in mission-critical environments and includes a 5-year limited warranty.

The 8 TB and 10 TB models become available this month. The 14 TB, 16 TB, 18 TB, 20 TB, 22 TB, and 24 TB models follow in Q1 2026.
