TDK Introduces CarXield EMC Filters for Electric Vehicle Platforms in 2025
TDK launched a standardized electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) filter series designed for automotive inverters operating at 500 V and 1000 V. The filters reduce development time for system integrators, enabling mid-sized e-mobility manufacturers to achieve faster market entry with compact EMI solutions that meet automotive standards and are available through streamlined manufacturing processes. CarXield mitigates inverter-to-battery interference, enhancing powertrain EMC performance and simplifying compliance for electric drivetrain applications.
The filters suppress inverter-generated noise on battery lines, supporting electromagnetic immunity and emission compliance to ensure stable performance in electric vehicle (xEV) platforms. Measuring 140 x 59 x 50.0 mm (L x W x H), the components support 500 V and 1000 V systems with rated currents up to 400 A at ambient temperatures of +85 °C and transient peak currents up to 1000 A. The typical DC resistance is 0.1 mΩ. Utilizing nanocrystalline core technology and X2 or Y2 class capacitors with an integrated passive discharge circuit, the filters are designed for durability under harsh conditions.
CarXield is available with or without copper busbars and optional passivated finishes, offering flexibility for ther...
