ROHM Releases New 100V Power MOSFET for AI Servers and Industrial Applications

On July 1, 2025, ROHM introduced the RY7P250BM, a 100V power MOSFET designed for hot-swap circuits in 48V power systems used in AI servers and industrial power supplies requiring battery protection. The MOSFET, part of ROHM’s EcoMOS brand, is optimized for energy-efficient applications and is available in an 8080-size package.

The RY7P250BM addresses the increasing power demands of data centers driven by generative AI and high-performance GPUs, which require efficient 48V power architectures. It offers a wide Safe Operating Area (SOA) with 16A at 10ms and 50A at 1ms, suitable for handling large inrush currents in hot-swap circuits. The MOSFET also features an ON-resistance of 1.86mΩ (VGS=10V, ID=50A, Tj=25°C), approximately 18% lower than the typical 2.28mΩ of comparable 100V MOSFETs in the same size, reducing power loss and heat generation.

The product serves as a drop-in replacement for existing 8080-size MOSFET designs and has been certified as a recommended component by a major global cloud platform provider for use in next-generation AI servers. Applications inclu...
