Siemens Introduces AI-Enhanced EDA Toolset for Semiconductor and PCB Design at DAC 2025

At the DAC 2025 (2025 Design Automation Conference), Siemens Digital Industries Software announced its AI-enhanced electronic design automation (EDA) toolset, integrating generative and agentic AI capabilities across its portfolio to support semiconductor and printed circuit board (PCB) design. The new EDA AI system is designed to operate within secure, established EDA environments, offering customization and integration across the entire workflow.
The system enables engineers to leverage their own EDA data to create custom workflows, with deployment options for on-premises or cloud environments. It includes enterprise-grade security, customizable access control, and a centralized multimodal data lake supporting various AI models, such as large and small language models, machine learning, and reinforcement learning. Siemens also incorporates NVIDIA NIM microservices and NVIDIA Llama Nemotron models to enable scalable, inference-ready deployment and enhanced automation in system-on-a-chip (SoC), chip design, and PCB systems design and verification.
Specific tools in the portfolio include:
Aprisa AI: Integrated into the Aprisa digital implementation solution, it provides AI-driven design exploration optimizing power, performance, and area (PPA). With a natural language interface and customizable AI-generated solutions, it achieves 10x productivity, 3x faster tapeout, ...
