Rambus announces client chipsets for AI PC memory modules
Rambus introduced new client chipsets for next-generation AI PC memory modules, including two Power Management ICs (PMICs): the PMIC5200 for LPDDR5 CAMM2 (LPCAMM2) modules and the PMIC5120 for DDR5 CSODIMMs and CUDIMMs. These PMICs, combined with the Client Clock Driver (CKD) and Serial Presence Detect Hub (SPD Hub), form complete chipsets for memory modules in AI PC notebooks, desktops, and workstations.

The chipsets support LPCAMM2, CUDIMM, and CSODIMM form factors, addressing various module performance and capacity needs. With these PMICs, Rambus now provides memory interface chipsets for all JEDEC-standard DDR5 and LPDDR5 memory modules for servers and PCs.
The LPCAMM2 chipset includes the PMIC5200 and SPD Hub, while the DDR5 CSODIMM and CUDIMM chipset comprises the CKD, PMIC5120, and SPD Hub. For DDR5 RDIMM (4800–8000), the chipset includes a Registering Clock Driver (RCD), PMIC, SPD Hub, and Temperature Sensor ICs (TS). The DDR5 MRDIMM 12800 chipset features a Multiplexing Registering Clock Driver (MRCD), Multiplexing Data Buffer (MDB), PMIC, SPD Hub, and TS.
Rambus will showcase these LPDDR5 and DDR5 client DIMM chipsets at COMPUTEX 2025 in Taipei...
