Infineon announces the launch of the XENSIV TLE4960x magnetic switch family. Developed in accordance with the ISO 26262 standard, these advanced magnetic switches integrate diagnostic functions to support functional safety applications with requirements up to ASIL B. This makes them the only ASIL-B-compliant switches on the market capable of addressing a wide range of automotive applications, including window regulators, sunroof actuators, and seat adjustment.

As the automotive industry advances towards autonomous driving, compliance with the ISO 26262 standard is crucial at both the system and sensor levels. The XENSIV TLE4960x magnetic switch family is designed to meet these stringent demands, ensuring robust performance and reliability in harsh environments. The devices are AEC-Q100 compliant and qualified to Grade 0, making them ideal for high-stress automotive applications.

The TLE4960x devices are engineered to measure the magnetic field orthogonal to the printed circuit board in the Z-direction and feature an open-drain output for speed information. They include integrated overcurrent and overtemperature protection, housed in a standardized SOT23-3 SMD package. Operating across an extended temperature range from -40°C to 175°C, these sensors require only 1.6 mA, offering excellent temperature stability for demanding automotive environments.
