Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has launched the TCKE5 Series, four eFuse ICs for power-line protection with an input voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V. The lineup includes TCKE501UA, TCKE501UL, TCKE502UA and TCKE502UL, with shipments starting October 13, 2026.

Toshiba said the miniaturization, enhanced functionality and lower power consumption of electronic equipment have increased the use of applications requiring low-voltage power supplies, including 1.8V power lines. It said overcurrent and short-circuit protection is also required on low-voltage lines to improve system reliability.

Toshiba Launches TCKE5 Series eFuse ICs for 1.7V Power-Line Protection

The TCKE5 Series is the first in Toshiba's eFuse IC lineup to support 1.8V power lines, and is intended for low-voltage applications including SD memory cards. The devices come in a SOT-353F (UFV) package measuring 2.0×2.1×0.7mm (typ.), which Toshiba says helps reduce PCB mounting area in products such as wearable and IoT devices.

The eFuse ICs include overcurrent protection that shuts off the output when overcurrent is detected. The detection threshold can be set with an external resistor, R ILIM, and a mask time helps prevent unnecessary shutdowns caused by transient peak currents. When current exceeding the threshold flows, the output shuts off after the mask time.

The lineup includes auto-retry models, which automatically recover circuit operation, and latched models, where recovery is triggered by an external signal. The series also offers different slew-rate settings for power sequencing requirements. Its output current rating is 0 to 1.0A DC and 0 to 2.0A for a 500μs pulse at a 2% duty ratio. Typical on-resistance is 75mΩ, with a 100mΩ maximum, at an output current of 1.0A.

Key features of the TCKE5 Series include an operating input voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V supporting 1.8V, 3.3V and 5V power lines; an overcurrent protection mask time of 2.4ms (typ.); and the thin SOT-353F package.

Shipments of the four products started October 13, 2026. Toshiba said it will further expand its eFuse IC lineup with products supporting a wide range of equipment.
