Transcript
Host: Hi, This is Srinivas, editor of EEHerald, speaking to Suraj Rengarajan, (0:08) one of the senior leader in the Semiconductor equipment. He is the… (0:12) Principal Technologist. (0:13) Yeah, Principal Technologist in Applied Materials, you know the Applied Materials, (0:17) is known in every area of the semiconductor equipment.
Of course, they are also equally (0:22) present in India in a big way. So, welcome to this short talk. (0:25) Hello.
(0:25) I heard your presentation. Can you briefly highlight what all the things you talked about (0:32) to our audience? (0:34) Okay. Hello.
Suraj: Thanks for this opportunity. So, I got a chance in Cosign to talk to the (0:42) semiconductor community about different things that we wanted to message to academia and the (0:49) ecosystem, right? The few messages, one is that there is a big semiconductor opportunity now, (0:57) right? We believe that the 1 trillion semiconductor market that we thought will (1:03) happen in 2030 will happen now in 2026, this year, right? (1:08) Yeah, 4 years early. (1:10) 4 years ahead, right? India was always a sort of player at the edge or just a participant (1:19) in the semiconductor industry.
So, now we have a chance to be a big part and also shape how the (1:28) industry happens. So, that is the big opportunity. There is a big semiconductor opportunity and (1:34) India can play a role in that to be… (1:36) Edge to coming to the centre.
