Murata has announced a set proposal and circuit design support for a discrete configuration that combines the crystal unit ‘XRCGE55M200MZF1BR0’ and the thermistor ‘NCU03XH103F6SRL’ for automotive Ultra Wide Band (UWB) applications.

The proposal targets automotive UWB systems used in digital keys, Child Presence Detection (CPD), sensors, and Wireless BMS. Automotive UWB systems require highly accurate timing control for wideband communication as digital key systems and advanced safety functions advance. However, crystal units alone have difficulty maintaining required accuracy under high temperature environments, typically requiring temperature compensation using an integrated sensor.

There has been demand for a discrete configuration combining a crystal unit with an external thermistor to optimize cost structure, but circuit design and temperature compensation in such setups have been challenging.

Murata is now offering the set proposal of the crystal unit ‘XRCGE55M200MZF1BR0’ and the thermistor ‘NCU03XH103F6SRL’, along with circuit design support for temperature characteristic compensation. Customers can contact Murata through the support link and provide their mounted circuit boards. Murata then measures temperature characteristic parameters with the products mounted and supplies the resulting data.

This support enables customers to achieve target performance using compensation parameters optimized for their specific mounted circuit boards in a discrete configuration and improves design process efficiency.

The crystal unit ‘XRCGE55M200MZF1BR0’ entered mass production in March 2026. It has a compact 2016 size (2.0 x 1.6 mm) and is designed for high reliability in automotive applications, with guaranteed operation up to 115°C and a particle-less design for low failure rate. It features Murata’s proprietary crystal cutting technology that optimizes the temperature characteristic curve under high temperature environments.

Crystal Unit Specifications:
- Size: 0806-inch (2.0 × 1.6 mm)
- Oscillation Frequency: 55.2 MHz
- Frequency tolerance (25℃): ±10 ppm
- Frequency temperature characteristics: ±10 ppm (after compensation across -40~115℃)

Thermistor Specifications:
- Size: 0201 inch (0.6 × 0.3 mm)
- Resistance (25℃): 10 kΩ ±1.0%
- B constant (25/50℃): 3380 K ±1.0%
- Operating temperature range: -55~+125℃

The thermistor is suitable for automotive electronics, features copper electrodes for miniaturization, and provides fast thermal response due to its small volume.

The set is available with lead-free construction and stable supply. Details of both components are available online.
