TSMC Executive Aveek Sarkar Elected to Si2 Board of Directors

The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) has announced the election of Aveek Sarkar to its Board of Directors. Sarkar currently serves as Director of the Ecosystem and Alliance Management Division at TSMC, where he and his team are responsible for semiconductor design enablement through collaborations with partners via TSMC’s Open Innovation Platform® (OIP). The platform encompasses EDA, IP, Cloud, design services, and TSMC 3DFabric® technologies.

Before joining TSMC, Sarkar led multiple product portfolios at Synopsys and Ansys. He joined Ansys following its acquisition of Apache Design Solutions, where he was part of the executive team that positioned Apache as the industry leader in chip-package-system power noise analysis. Sarkar began his career at Sun Microsystems, leading the development of custom digital circuits and power management strategies for multiple generations of UltraSPARC microprocessors.

Sarkar holds a BTech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur; an MSEE from Oregon State University; and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
