SK hynix Announces Establishment of U.S.-Based AI Company Through Solidigm Restructuring for AI Data Center Solutions

 SK hynix  will establish an AI solutions firm in the United States, tentatively named AI Company (AI Co.), to identify new growth opportunities in AI.

The company aims to leverage its chip technologies, including HBM, to deliver optimized AI systems for customers in the AI data center sector. It will continue strategic investments in and collaborations with AI firms to enhance competitiveness in memory chips and offer various AI data center solutions.

Global big tech companies are competing through investments and innovation in AI, where high-end memory chips address performance bottlenecks in AI data solutions. SK hynix, a leading memory chip maker, seeks to strengthen its position amid the AI demand surge.

AI Co. will act as a hub for SK Group’s AI strategies, accelerating AI advancement in global markets, including the US and South Korea. It will consider investments in innovative US companies and partnerships to create synergy with SK Group affiliates.

The establishment will occur through restructuring of Solidigm (SK hynix NAND Product Solutions Corp.), its California-based enterprise SSD manufacturing subsidiary.
