Arteris Closes Acquisition of Cycuity to Strengthen Semiconductor Cybersecurity Assurance

Arteris, announced it has completed the acquisition of Cycuity, a provider of semiconductor cybersecurity assurance technology. The acquisition combines Arteris’ system IP with Cycuity’s silicon hardware security assurance solutions. Arteris stated that the move addresses the increasing importance of semiconductor cybersecurity assurance across chip designs, as threats have extended to the hardware layer.

Silicon vulnerabilities can lead to compromised systems and exposure of unprotected information, a risk amplified by the growth of AI and chiplet-based architectures. According to data from the US Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), reported new Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) in hardware increased more than 15 times over the past five years.

The company noted that there is rising demand for technologies that enhance semiconductor security while preserving SoC functionality, performance, and development schedules.

Arteris indicated that the acquisition broadens its offerings to help customers manage secure on-chip data movement amid a growing volume of sophisticated cyberattacks targeting unsecured data in semiconductors. This includes applications ranging from AI data centers to v...
