Electronic System Design Industry Revenue Reaches $5.6 Billion in Q3 2025, Up 8.8% Year-Over-Year, Driven by APAC Growth

The Electronic System Design (ESD) industry generated $5,566.4 million in revenue during the third quarter of 2025, marking an 8.8% increase from the $5,114.5 million recorded in Q3 2024, according to the latest Electronic Design Market Data (EDMD) report released by the ESD Alliance, a SEMI Technology Community, on January 12, 2026.

The four-quarter moving average rose 10.4% compared with the prior four-quarter period.

All tracked product categories posted year-over-year revenue gains in Q3 2025:

Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) revenue grew 9.1% to $2,097.8 million, with the four-quarter moving average up 11.6%.
Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) revenue increased 13.6% to $1,915.7 million, with the four-quarter moving average rising 14.8%.
Services revenue rose 10.2% to $221.4 million, with the four-quarter moving average up 13.7%.
Printed Circuit Board and Multi-Chip Module (PCB and MCM) revenue increased 3.4% to $466.2 million, with the four-quarter moving average up 8.1%.
IC Physical Design and Verification revenue grew 1.3% to $865.4 million, though the four-quarter moving average declined 1.2%.

Geographically, revenue showed varied performance:
