TDK Expands Hybrid Polymer Capacitors with 30g Vibration-Resistant Design
TDK has expanded its B409x series of SMD hybrid polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a vibration-resistant design capable of withstanding mechanical vibrations up to 30 g (MIL-STD-202, Method 204). The design incorporates four posts extending from the base plate to stabilize the component during shocks and vibrations. These capacitors carry the part number suffix 100, while standard types use suffix 000.
The surface-mount components are available in voltage ratings from 25 V to 80 V and capacitance values from 56 µF to 1100 µF. They have a diameter of 10 mm and heights ranging from 10.2 mm to 16.8 mm. Operating temperature range is -55 °C to +105 °C for the B40950 series and up to +150 °C for the B40910 series.
The capacitors feature ESR values from 10 mΩ to 33 mΩ and ripple current capabilities from 2.8 A to 5.8 A. Useful life exceeds 4000 hours at +125 °C with rated voltage and ripple current. The B40950 industrial series provides a useful life exceeding 10,000 hours at +105 °C with rated voltage and ripple current.
