Lantronix Edge AI Selected for Trillium Engineering Drone Imaging Systems

Lantronix announced that its NDAA/TAA-compliant Edge AI solution and engineering services have been selected by Trillium Engineering for gimbaled imaging systems in Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS).

Trillium Engineering provides gimbaled imaging systems. Applications include intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), infrastructure inspection, and wildland fire operations.

Lantronix’s Open-Q 5165RB System on Module (SOM), powered by Qualcomm Dragonwing processors, supports Trillium’s GD-Loc and NyxCore products. Capabilities include real-time Edge AI processing for imaging and analytics, AI object detection and tracking with mission-specific models, precision targeting with low latency in GPS-denied or network-restricted environments, and SWaP optimization for compact platforms.

Ryan O’Connor, vice president of Product Development at Trillium Engineering, stated that Lantronix’s Edge AI technology advances imaging platforms for uncrewed systems and enables operational efficiency and real-time intelligence.

Mathi Gurusamy, chief strategy officer of Lantronix, stated that the collaboration demonstrates the scalability of Lantronix’s Edge AI platform in military and commercial drone applications.
