Eaton $50M Investment in Virginia AI Data Center Facility
Eaton announced a new manufacturing campus in Henrico County, Virginia, for power distribution technologies including static transfer switches, power distribution units, and remote power panels. The investment exceeds $50 million. The new 350,000-square-foot facility will more than double Eaton's Richmond footprint. Production is expected to begin in 2027.
The expansion consolidates operations from three nearby facilities within three miles. Existing employees will transition to the new site. The project is expected to create 200 additional jobs, with hiring beginning in 2026 at new and existing Richmond sites. The investment is supported by state and local economic development incentives.
Aidan Graham, senior vice president and general manager of Critical Power Solutions at Eaton, stated that the investment increases regional manufacturing for higher power infrastructure for North American data center customers. Eaton's investments in North American manufacturing for electrical solutions have reached more than $1.2 billion since 2023.
