Marvell Launches Golden Cable Initiative to Accelerate AEC Ecosystem for Hyperscaler 1.6T AI Deployments

Marvell has introduced the Golden Cable initiative, a program to expand the active electrical cable (AEC) ecosystem and reduce time-to-market for hyperscaler AI infrastructure.

The initiative provides validated AEC reference designs, firmware, calibration data, and support resources for ecosystem partners. It supports incorporation of partner-specific IP for features including cable gauge, bend radius, and reach.

The program targets short-reach copper connections used in AI data center racks, where AECs are deployed as an alternative to optical or passive copper solutions.

Xi Wang, senior vice president and general manager of the Connectivity Business Unit at Marvell, stated: “The Golden Cable initiative empowers ecosystem partners to quickly innovate, iterate and differentiate, delivering validated architectures, advanced firmware and design flexibility that will shape the next generation of hyperscaler AI deployments.”

Joseph Wang, CTO at Foxconn Interconnect Technology, stated: “Through the Golden Cable initiative, we completed our first design in just two months.”

Vito Chen, GM of the Electrical Connectivity Product Line at Luxshare Technology Co., Ltd., stated: “Thanks to the Marvell Golden Cable initiative together with Luxshare Tech’s Optamax high-performance bulk cable, end customers can accelerat...
