Bourns Introduces 1202-P Series Type 1 SPDs with 50 kA Surge Rating and Built-in Thermal Protection for AC Infrastructure

Bourns,  has launched the 1202-P Series hardwired Type 1 surge protective devices (SPDs) that integrate thermally-protected metal oxide varistors (MOVs).

The series offers a nominal discharge current (In) of 20 kA and a maximum discharge current (Imax) of 50 kA. It is designed for service entrance, branch panel, and OEM panel AC protection applications.

The devices comply with UL 1449 5th Edition and are listed as Type 1 SPDs, allowing installation on the line side of the main service disconnect without external fusing or circuit breaker.

Built-in thermal protection disconnects the SPD under abnormal overvoltage or temporary overvoltage (TOV) conditions. LED indicators show when the internal safety fusing has operated.

The 1202-P Series is IP66/NEMA 4X rated for indoor and outdoor use and is RoHS compliant.

Available configurations include 120 Vrms and 120/240 V split-phase versions. The series is in stock.
