Littelfuse Unveils IX3407B Isolated Gate Driver for High-Power Applications in Motor Drives and Solar Inverters

Littelfuse, announced the release of the IX3407B, a single-channel, galvanically isolated gate driver designed for high-voltage power applications. The driver supports motor drives, inverters, and industrial power supplies with up to 7 A peak source and sink output current through separate output pins, utilizing Littelfuse’s 2.5 kV capacitive isolation technology for signal integrity and safety.

The IX3407B offers fast propagation delays, a Common Mode Transient Immunity (CMTI) rating of 150 kV/µs, and thermal stability across a range of switching frequencies and temperatures. It eliminates the need for optocouplers or transformer-based isolation, reducing board space, component count, and system complexity while supporting interface between low-voltage logic and high-voltage power devices.

Key features include TTL/CMOS logic compatibility with 3.3 V thresholds, input voltage tolerance up to VCC, Active Shutdown (ASD), and Under Voltage Lockout (UVLO) for fault protection. The driver supports a wide output supply range of 13 V to 35 V, compatible with Si/SiC MOSFETs and IGBTs.

Target applications include AC and brushless DC motor drives, solar inverters, energy storage systems, high-voltage DC/DC converters, LLC and totem-pole PFC power stages, induc...
