e-con Systems Adds Camera Support for Renesas RZ/G3E to Enhance Edge AI Vision Applications

e-con Systems, a provider of embedded vision solutions, has announced camera support for Renesas’ RZ/G3E microprocessor, expanding its collaboration with Renesas to support applications in industrial automation, smart cities, and automotive sectors. This follows e-con Systems’ integration with Renesas’ RZ/V2N and RZ/V2H processors.

The RZ/G3E microprocessor, part of Renesas’ MPU portfolio, is designed for low-power edge computing, supporting dual-display, secure connectivity, and a high-performance Arm Cortex-A55 processor with an Arm Ethos-U55 neural processing unit for graphics and vision-based applications.

e-con Systems offers two camera modules compatible with the RZ/G3E:

e-CAM22_CURZH: A Full HD ultra-low light color camera with a Sony STARVIS IMX462 sensor, designed for high-quality imaging in low-light conditions.
e-CAM25_CURZH: A Full HD global shutter camera with an onsemi AR0234 sensor, capable of 120 fps and distortion-free imaging for fast-moving objects.

Both cameras include a built-in Image Signal Processor (ISP) aligned with RZ/G3E requirements and are compatible with the RZ/G3E evaluation kit, available for immediate evaluation.

Suresh Madhu, Head of Industrial Business Unit at e-con Systems, stated that...
