SEMICON Taiwan 2025 Sees Record Global Participation Amid AI Chip Boom
SEMICON Taiwan 2025, set to begin with forums on September 8 and exhibitions from September 10-12 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, has reached a record high in pre-registration, according to SEMI. The event, marking its 30th anniversary, will host over 1,200 companies, 4,100 booths, and participants from 56 countries, reflecting its role as a key indicator of the global semiconductor industry.
Driven by rising demand for AI chips, SEMI projects sub-7nm process capacity to increase 69% from 2024, reaching 1.4 million wafers per month by 2028. Taiwan’s ecosystem and supply chain are central to supporting global AI chip production. The event highlights a shift toward cross-domain collaboration, with system companies forming closer ties across the semiconductor value chain.
SEMICON Taiwan 2025 will feature 17 national pavilions, a record, including first-time participants from Canada, Costa Rica, Lithuania, Sweden, and Vietnam. Additional delegations from the U.S., Chile, Spain, Italy, and other countries will attend independently, emphasizing the event’s growing role as a hub for international industry collaboration.
