Tata Electronics and Merck Collaborate to Advance India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem at SEMICON India 2025

Tata Electronics Private Limited and Merck signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop semiconductor materials, fabrication infrastructure, and specialty chemical and gas distribution capabilities in India. The agreement was formalized during SEMICON India 2025, aligning with the India Semiconductor Mission to enhance indigenous semiconductor capabilities.

Under the MoU, Merck will provide Tata Electronics’ upcoming semiconductor fabrication facility (Fab) in Dholera, Gujarat, with high-purity electronic materials, advanced gas and chemical delivery systems, turnkey fab infrastructure services, and AI-powered Material Intelligence™ solutions. Merck will also offer access to its Athinia® data analytics platform for collaboration across the semiconductor industry, share best practices in safety and manufacturing, and support localized warehousing, raw material supply chain development, talent cultivation, and the establishment of industry standards in India.
