NVIDIA Jetson Thor Powers Humanoid Robot Chip Market, Set to Reach $48M by 2028, TrendForce Reports

TrendForce reported that NVIDIA’s Jetson Thor, a system-on-chip designed for humanoid robots, integrates the Blackwell GPU and 128 GB of memory to deliver 2,070 FP4 TFLOPS of AI performance, 7.5 times higher than its predecessor, Jetson Orin. This enables real-time processing of sensor data and large language models, supporting advanced humanoid robot functions like perception, reasoning, and action. Companies such as Agility Robotics, Boston Dynamics, and Amazon are adopting Jetson Thor, contributing to a projected humanoid robot chip market exceeding $48 million by 2028.

The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) noted in its late-2025 report that humanoid robot adoption will progress in stages: near-term pilot projects, mid-term expansion into manufacturing and service sectors, and long-term household use, requiring high-performance chips. TrendForce’s “1H25 In-Depth Robotics Report” aligns with this, projecting global humanoid robot shipments will reach 100,000 units by 2032.

At the Taiwan Robotics and Automation Show, vendors like Advantech, NEXCOM, and Solomon showcased Jetson Thor-based products and services. Taiwanese suppliers are shifting from components like servo motors and sensors to integrated and modular solutions, such as vision and sensing modules, to lower entry barriers and strengthen global supply chain competitiv...
