Murata introduces high-temperature common mode choke coils for automotive applications

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has expanded its PLT10HH series of common mode choke coils, adding products designed for high-temperature environments up to 150°C and capable of handling large currents up to 15A. These coils are intended for noise suppression on power supply lines in automotive equipment, with mass production scheduled to begin in June 2025.

The demand for surface-mount device (SMD) common mode choke coils that support high temperatures and large currents has increased due to the growing complexity of in-vehicle equipment driven by advancements in autonomous driving technologies. Previously, Murata’s PLT10HH series supported a maximum current of 1A in a 125°C environment. The new products, utilizing new ferrite materials, operate at 150°C and handle up to 10 times the current of the conventional series in a 125°C environment.
