Nextracker expands in India with new Hyderabad facility and surpasses 10 GW in solar tracker deployments
Nextracker, a global provider of solar energy solutions, has deployed over 10 gigawatts (GW) of solar trackers in India, with 1.8 GW added in the last quarter. The company has also opened an 80,000 sq. ft. office and research and development (R&D) facility in Hyderabad, which includes a 13-acre Center for Solar Excellence (CFSE) for R&D and testing, supported by a USD $1 million investment.
Nextracker’s India portfolio includes a 305 MW project with ReNew in Anantapur and 1.5 GW of projects through partnerships with engineering, procurement, and construction companies. The Hyderabad facility will focus on R&D, testing, and workforce development, with the company expanding its 400-strong workforce in engineering, manufacturing, and customer support.
Under India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, 95% of Nextracker’s tracker components are manufactured locally.
