IonQ and Einride partner to develop quantum solutions for freight logistics

IonQ, a quantum computing and networking company, has announced an investment partnership with Einride, a global freight mobility company focused on digital, electric, and autonomous technology. The collaboration aims to develop quantum computing applications for fleet routing, logistics optimization, and supply chain management.

IonQ and Einride will combine IonQ’s quantum systems with Einride’s autonomous and electric fleet expertise to address complex routing and scheduling challenges that classical computing Ohio-based systems struggle to solve. The partnership seeks to improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in the global freight industry.
Niccolo de Masi, CEO of IonQ, stated that the collaboration aims to create a platform for quantum advantage in the transportation and logistics market and supports building a quantum-ready economy in Europe. Robert Falck, Founder and CEO of Einride, noted that quantum computing could enable smarter, cleaner, and more efficient logistics networks.
The partnership follows IonQ’s prior work with Airbus on cargo loading optimization and Thompson Machinery on predictive maintenance. It also aligns with IonQ’s expansion in Europe, including a collaboration with Ast...
